vonHogflume: #TemporalTues 1) I have just returned from Spain in 1519. I went to see the navigator Ferdinand Magellan leave on a trip to Indonesia.

vonHogflume: #TemporalTues 2) Magellan sailed across the Atlantic and round South America to get to the Pacific ocean. Magellan Strait is named for him.

vonHogflume: #TemporalTues 3) Magellan died in the Phillippines from a poisoned arrow during a battle with natives. He never saw the voyage's success.
